Celebrate the Year of the Goat as Queen Victoria Market marks the beginning of a new lunar year. During 10 days of festivities, experience traditional Chinese lion and dragon dances, stunning lantern displays and a 15-metre-long dragon lighting up Queen Street. Sample fare from the market’s Chinese traders and forage the stalls for lucky goat charms.

Free Lion & Dragon Dances

  • Thursday 19 February, departs at 11am from Vic Market Place Food Court.
  • Saturday 21 February, departs at 1pm from Cnr Queen & Victoria Sts.
  • Wednesday 25 February, departs at 7pm from Cnr Queen & Victoria Sts.

Queen Victoria Market is open Tuesday and Thursday, 6am to 2pm; Friday, 6am to 5pm; Saturday, 6am to 3pm; and Sunday, 9am to 4pm.

You can walk to Queen Victoria Market from either Melbourne Central or Flagstaff train station. On the tram, catch numbers 19, 57 and 59 to stop 7, or the 55 to stop 9. You can also catch the Melbourne Visitor Shuttle bus.
