Thank You To Our Partners

bp1The onset of summer is always a great time in Melbourne. And, this year, hot on the heels of the Australian Open Finals weekend, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year – a time of abundant joy and enormous goodwill.

Melbourne’s Year of the Rooster celebrations in 2017 will provide hundreds of ways in which to herald in a new year, Chinese-style.

Over 17 days, the 2017 Chinese New Year Melbourne Festival will see the World’s Most Liveable City exude with vibrant performances; cultural and historical activities including Lion Dance lessons for the kids at the Chinese Museum Melbourne; cooking lessons from our original celebrity chef, Elizabeth Chong; as well as craft and other happenings.

Celebrating this city’s wonderful multicultural pedigree, the Chinese New Year Melbourne Festival is an opportunity for all of Melbourne to celebrate an age-old culture with engagement by our international student cohort from diverse backgrounds, and our local, interstate and international visitors.

Thanks goes to the Chinese Museum Melbourne, the Federation of Chinese Associations, Eureka Skydeck and Destination Melbourne for their commitment and vision. Additionally, we acknowledge the role and counsel of the Chinese Australian Cultural Society Ballarat and the Geelong Chinese Association.

We have garnered tremendous support from government and business for a unified and cohesively branded Festival which augurs for our efforts to bring to life the whole of Melbourne during this important major multicultural festival period.

Thanks must also go to the world’s best products in the Asian food category, Ayam – dedicated to quality for more than 120 years; the world’s leading automotive marque, BMW and, of course my favourite market place, Queen Victoria Market.

So, welcome to a delightful melding of heritage, culture and hospitality from 27 January to 12 February 2017. See you at our Hub @ Queensbridge Square.
