2016 Chinese New Year Festival Official Opening Ceremony

The official opening ceremony of the 2016 Melbourne Chinese New Year Festival will be held at the Federation Square main stage.

The ceremony will be led by lion and dragon dances, with official speeches to follow. Lord Mayor, Robert Doyle, will declare the 2016 Melbourne Chinese New Year Festival’s official opening during the ceremony and celebrations will then begin.

There will be over 100 local Chinese community leaders joining the official opening ceremony, as well as representatives from other government or community organisations.

All guests are then invited to visit the festival site and the touring activities areas.
